WHY GROW FOOD?
I have been making a documentary film about Permaculture over the last few years and became inspired to start growing my own home-grown veggies by only using natural or freely available resources to grow food.
When Coronavirus hit, my sister was eager to grow her own food and with thousands of people across the globe in a similar situation, she suggested I make some videos to help her and anyone grow food, no matter where they are around the world using the elements and resources found in nature.

WHAT WE ARE DOING
We decided to create a five part series about the things I learned that allowed me to create my own soil from scratch, read the seasons and the sun, so that we could grow our own food all year round.
In this series Grow Food From Scratch, you will learn the basics from Permaculture Design that allows you to read the elements and grow from nature to create a highly productive, self sustaining veggie garden in your own home or community.
Learn how to build your own soil from scratch, plan your garden around the elements, plant and grow your food and how to create a years worth of compost in just 18 days so you can grow fresh produce anywhere you are.

Coronavirus has disrupted and changed how we interact with each other. For me, it has been a scary realisation of how reliant I had become on everything from food to fresh water and how the slightest disruption can topple the fundamental things you need to survive.
While shooting Permaculture The Documentary, I met many people living sustainably and the one thing I learned is, the most important and the easiest way to make your first step towards being more self resilient is to grow your own food. Not only is it more simple than most gardening gurus might make out, but it is also something anyone can do, anywhere thanks to the power of nature.
The most important lesson I've learned from growing plants is 'Grow like Nature'. She has had millions of years to adapt, evolve and perfect growing. No synthetic fertiliser compares to the efficiency and productivity if you follow her steps. This series is about learning how to harness nature to grow food not only from scratch, but for free.
Growing an abundance of healthy food will not only save you money, but will also help the planet immensely by cutting down on huge amounts of waste, water and energy that is required to grow food commercially - which is an extra bonus for some tasty goodies in your backyard.
The most fantastic thing is, thanks to nature, it is possible to grow food anywhere there is water, sunlight, air and soil; which means you're more than likely reading this on planet earth, which means you are in luck you can do it too.
